Carts and Caddies: 3 Year-Plan
I am writing this not only for transparency with you, the reader, but also for accountability on our side. When creating this brand I was often met with the age-old question of, “Well, what do you want to do with this?” Truthfully I did not know. This brand was just a brainchild of mine that I thought was needed to further the game I love. Faced with this question I took to the course in hopes of finding all my answers. Full disclosure, I found some answers for this brand, but left with so many more questions about my game 100 yards or less… but such is golf.
With that being said I felt it would serve everyone well to clearly lay out my 3 year plan and overall vision for this brand and our community that will surely grow into one of the most sought-after golf groups.
Year 1: This year will be the great year of development and community engagement. This year’s success will be measured not by sales, but rather engagement between the brand, community, and everyone in between. A strong community will allow us to stand on solid ground for the future and build an even stronger community. Speaking of community, Carts and Caddies is focused on creating a group of golfers from all skill levels and areas that want to work and grow together as a collective. To further drive our community growth and engagement there will be periodic drops and giveaways when user metric milestones are reached. I will disclose the first giveaway will be at 500 followers across all platforms, after that well you will just have to stay on your toes.
Year 2: With a little bit of luck and a heck of a lot of work we will begin brining exclusive partnerships, artists, and collaborators to work with the community and our apparel drops. The blog will continue, but also be compounded with a weekly podcast, name TBA. The current vision of the podcast is to be an extension of the blogs, but with our community also taking part. I would like to engage with our community that we have built and have a few shot by shot hole recaps from that week’s rounds. Additionally, I will be introducing a rather stacked lineup of special guest appearances that will share their experiences and tips. Finally, I am deeply intrigued with the business aspect of golf and hold a few degrees/insights that will be used in a short golf business segment.
Year 3: Refine. Grow. Solidify. That is my initial plan. In 2026 we will be celebrating our 3 year anniversary as a community and with that comes new opportunity and greater demand for attention to detail.
Refinement: By Year 3 I anticipate having a strong merchandising platform as well as financial stability for user engagement and events. This will further the brand’s ability to offer the best possible product to our community. That’s something I have stressed since Day 1 of this venture.
Grow: I am based in Pittsburgh, PA. To some surprise the city is surrounded by some of the better golf courses I have played. With that being said, there is a definitive lack of youth engagement throughout the golfing community here. I would like to help address that with the formation of a 501(c)3 that is centered around not only growing our game, but using golf as a way to teach life lessons and personal growth. Depending on our success and rate of return I would like to bring this offering everywhere that needs it. Additionally, Carts and Caddies will remain committed to growing our community and product offering to best serve our community.
Solidify: During Year 3 I want to take the time to look back on our early community members and give them a chance to get the recognition they deserve for sticking with our brand. Loyalty is something that is earned and it should also be rewarded. During this year will be offering exclusive events, drops, and giveaways for the community members that have gone to battle with us on and off the course. We will also be committed to recognizing our community members that go above and beyond to foster growth and development in others.
So to summarize — In Year 1 I want to create a community that truly loves the game of golf and shares the same passion to grow the game. In Year 2 I want to bring our community and everyone around the game of golf the best collaborations and apparel our golf courses have ever seen. Also, a solid podcast that can get you through the morning commute. Finally, Year 3 will be focused on helping others and recognizing/giving back to the community we have created because at the end of the day without you this brand would cease to exist. I look forward to this journey throughout the next few years and hope that you will join me on it.
